Jumoke George’s Missing Daughter Found in Mali After Four Years, Actress Battles Health and Financial Struggles

 By Joshua Omoniyi
Veteran Yoruba actress Jumoke George has finally received the news she’s longed for: her 41-year-old daughter, Adeola, who vanished four years ago, has been located in Mali. For years, Jumoke quietly endured the pain of not knowing her daughter’s fate, pouring every naira she earned from infrequent acting jobs into search efforts—even as her own health deteriorated.

Adeola, who was living with her grandmother in Ibadan, was last heard from when she told family she was traveling to Lagos. When she never arrived, Jumoke’s world was turned upside down. “Any small money I got from working was spent on looking for her,” Jumoke revealed, her voice thick with emotion. The uncertainty haunted her daily life, even as she struggled through severe health challenges.

Hope finally arrived during a recent episode of the Talk to B show, hosted by Biola Bayo, when Adeola appeared via video call from Mali. Although mother and daughter have yet to speak directly, Jumoke’s relief is palpable. “Mom is happy she’s alive,” Biola shared on Instagram, capturing the raw joy and tears of a mother who had feared the worst for far too long.

Yet the reunion comes against the backdrop of Jumoke’s ongoing battles. After falling ill, she missed booked performances and had to refund fees or borrow funds for treatment. Doctors have advised further tests, estimated at ₦400,000, before a clear diagnosis can be made. Currently receiving care at a state hospital in Lagos, Jumoke remains hopeful but financially strained.

Between rounds of medical appointments and the emotional toll of her daughter’s disappearance, Jumoke has worked sporadically—sometimes landing an acting job only once every three to four months. The unpredictable income, coupled with mounting health expenses, underscores the precarious situation many Nigerian entertainers face off-screen.

As Jumoke George awaits the next chapter—more test results, possible hospital admission or discharge, and the first direct conversation with Adeola—she calls on fans and well-wishers to keep them in their prayers. Her story highlights not only the challenges of missing-person searches but also the resilience required to navigate serious health crises in Nigeria’s healthcare system.

For the Nigerian community, Jumoke’s journey is a poignant reminder of the power of hope, the importance of supporting families in crisis, and the need for better health-care resources. As Adeola’s safe return brings a measure of peace, Jumoke George’s strength shines through—proving that even in the darkest times, a mother’s love endures.
